HP TET Eligibility Criteria: Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Board conducts Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test’s  (HP TET) eligibility details are given below…

Minimum eligibility conditions for the Teacher Eligibility Test ( TET):

I. Age:– There is no upper age limit to apply for Teacher Eligibility Test (TET).

II. Educational Qualification:

1. For Trained Graduate Teachers (Arts): 
a. B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
OR
b. B.A./B.Com. with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
c. Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
d. Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed.
OR
e. B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education.

2. For Trained Graduate Teachers (Non-Medical): 
a. B.Sc.(NM) with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
b. B.Sc. (NM) with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
c. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
d. Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year B.Sc. (NM)/Ed
OR
e. B.Sc.(NM) with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education.

3. For Trained Graduate Teachers (Medical): 
a. B.Sc.(Medical) with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)
OR
b. B.Sc. (Medical) with at least 45% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
c. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
d. Senior Secondary ( or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year B.Sc. (Medical)/Ed
OR
e. B.Sc.(Medical) with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education.

4. For Shastri:
Shastri with 50% marks from an institution/University recognized by H.P. Government.

5. For Language Teacher: 
BA with Hindi as an elective subject from a recognized University with 50% marks in Hindi or its equivalent.
OR
The candidates who have passed Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) followed by BA Examination in English and one additional subject may be treated as equivalent to BA with Hindi for appointment to the post of Language Teacher provided the candidates have secured 50% marks in Prabhakar examination.
OR
M.A. (Hindi) with 50% marks from a recognized University.

6. For Punjabi Language Teacher:
B.A. with Punjabi as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education ( by whatever name known)
OR
B.A. with atleast 50% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1 year bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)
OR
B.A. with at least 45% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms & Procedure)Regulation issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
Giani with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English & one additional subject) with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
OR
M.A. (Punjabi) with at least 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.).

7. For Urdu Language Teacher:
B.A. with Urdu as an elective subject and 2-year Diploma in Elementry Education (by whatever name known)
OR
B.A. with atleast 50% marks with Urdu as an elective subject and 1 year bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)
OR
B.A. with at least 45% marks with Urdu as an elective subject and 1year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulation issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
B.T. with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English & one additional subject with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).
M.A.(Urdu) with at least 50% marks from a recognized Universities and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.).

Relaxations in minimum eligibility:-Relaxation up to 5% in the minimum eligibility criteria of marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes & Physically handicapped candidates.
Candidates appearing in the final professional examination can also apply but they shall have to fulfill minimum eligibility conditions on the date of the TET examination failing which they will not be allowed to take the test. Minimum qualifying marks:- The minimum qualifying marks in Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is 60%.
